Middletown was a Round 1 recipient of a Downtown Revitalization Initiative grant in 2016. In 2025, it completed the last of the proposed projects. These included Erie Way Park, redevelopment of the vacant Woolworth Building on North Street, parking, street and greenspace Improvements, and funding for facades and storefronts.
